This will cause the colors to fade over time. Use curtains or appropriate window covering. 3.) When vacuuming. Look at your vacuum. If the vaccuum has a roller bar, which direction does it spin? You want to vacuum with direction that the wool lays. Run your hand on the rug fringe to fringe. You will feel when you run your hand one way is rough and when you run your hand the other way it feels smooth (like when you pet an animal). You want to use your vacuum like a hair brush, make it smooth. This will enhance the design in your rug over time .Also be careful of fringes. Fringes will get caught in the vacuum and eventually will cause the rug to come apart. 4.) When something is spilled or dropped act fast before it sets in and is absorbed. Scoop up as much as possible then use towels or cloths to absorb as much of the liquid as possible. Remember to work in the direction the wool wants to lay. Do not work in circles as that will only grind the mess deeper into the carpet. 5.) Apply luke warm water to the stain and blot repeatedly until the stain is removed. You may use shampoo, vinegar or degreaser if the stain is oily. 6.) If the stain is solid like gum, use a spoon to remove and follow step d below. Stain Treatment Table a.) Chewing Gum - Freeze using ice, break off gum, vacuum, warm water and soap. b.) Wine-Talcum powder then warm water & soap or dilute with white wine, blot, rinse, blot again and dry. c.)
